4. Development of a SLCU internal technical support/advise team:
A. Sharing the knowledge and expertise that is present in the SLCU member credit unions.
B. Identified areas include formulation of a treasury function between member credit unions; contingency support programmes between member credit unions, etc.
5. Professional Development/Training Programme 2008:
a. Financial statement interpretation/analysis and Accrual based accounting …. May or June
b. Business plans - development and utilization…. September or October
c. Governance and Best Practices …. November
6. CAWT - Initiated by the SLCU Board of Directors in November 2007 the members of the group (SLCU, ACE, UKCU, NACUW, ABCUL [ABCUL subsequently withdrew from group]) when addressing the future development of the Scottish credit union movement identified the following three (3) strategic areas as warranting clarity, structure, and definition:
A. The long term strategic focus/objective/purpose of the Scottish credit union movement?
B. The need for the Scottish credit union movement to ‘speak’ with one voice
C. The necessity for the development of enhanced operational and structural capacities of Scottish credit unions and the Scottish credit union movement (financial and business sustainability, and professional development – financial capitalization, education, training, etc.)
